Budgetisto is an envelope budgeting app for Android and the web. It exists for people who want the discipline of the cash-envelope method without carrying envelopes around.
I'm Denis Solonenko, a solo developer. Budgetisto exists because my partner and I wanted to budget together and could not find an app that made it simple. Envelope budgeting worked as a method, but physical envelopes are no use to a couple paying from different accounts, and most apps put each person's view behind their own login. We were never quite looking at the same numbers.
So I built the app we wanted: envelope budgeting that is easy to use, that we share, and where we always see the same numbers on both screens.
I started on it a few years ago, and we used it ourselves for about a year before it went public.
Budgetisto is built and maintained by one person, so features arrive deliberately rather than quickly.
Budgetisto is written in Flutter, which lets a single codebase run on both Android and the web. Data is stored and synchronised through Firebase (Firestore and Authentication). Subscriptions are handled by RevenueCat.
Android is available now. iOS, macOS and Windows are planned.
